Bellringing is great fun and the dozen or so ringers of St Luke’s are a happy family. When one of us gets out of time, we all rally round to make things sound right. Many ringers take up ringing in their 30’s and even more do so when they have just retired. If you would like to help make a jolly noise to get parishioners out of bed and into church, this could bring happiness into your life. We ring for the 10.30 services and for weddings, funerals and other national events like Remembrance Day, Easter and the New Year.

About 10 years ago a sound-recording company came and recorded bells at several churches, including ours. Some of the bands rang pretty posh stuff, but we rang the more straightforward call changes – quite well – and you can hear us by clicking here

We practice from 7.30 till 9.00 every Thursday and you would be most welcome to come up into the tower and say hello. We’ll let you chime the bells and will offer to teach you how to ring if you would like to take it up as a hobby.
