Thought for the Week
People can be a lot like onions.
Have you ever thought that people are not always what they seem to be? Sometimes you see someone in a certain way because that is how they want to be seen, or maybe it can even work the opposite way, where you see someone in a way they do not want to be seen - and maybe without meaning too, they give off a false image of themselves.
Maybe you thought that you knew someone and later found something out about that person that really suprised you (hopefully in a good way).
We can compare ourselves to an onion, an onion has many layers, you have to peel away the layers to get to the centre of the onion - We can also try to hide who we are, or think we are, under many layers too. Someone who comes across perhaps as over assertive and maybe a little aggressive may in reality be quite the opposite.
Thankfully we do not need to try and hide anything from God. Our heavenly father knows us and loves us regardless of our weakness, the mistakes we make and our attempts to hide from him. God loves us so much that he sent his son to die on a cross for us. He wants to bring us back into a loving relationship with him, and he has great things prepared for those who come to show their love for him:
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
