Christmas is Coming Concert fills the Church

This annual event to celebrate the start of the build up to Christmas was once again a great success. The church was full and through everyones generous giving the event raised nearly £2,000 towards church running costs. Moorlands Lodge were the sponsors and they kindly provided mulled wine and mince pies to round off a spendid evening.

St Luke's are grateful to the Excelsis Choir and the Choristers of St Edmund's School who once again under the guidance of Robert Lewis gave a varied and entertaining musical tour through traditional carols, seasonal pieces both new and old and with solos from both the adult choir and the boys showed how lucky we are to have such talent in our village.

The music was intersperced with readings chosen to be poignant, amusing and thought provoking and was concluded with a very amusing piece from puppeteer Alison Morgan and Toby Millard. Last year they gave us a donkey's view of the Nativity - this year it was the turn of the camel. Such talent from two local teenagers was great to witness.DSC_0076_2_resize_resize.JPG
