Holiday Club

This year's Holiday Club will be from 13th to 17th August, from 8.45am to 12.30pm, on a theme, related to the Olympic Games.
The age range is from 5-11 years old.
Application forms will be sent to children who have attended previous clubs, or will be available from the back of the church and from Grayshott Books.
There will also be a Celebration Service, followed by a barbecue, on Sunday 19th August, starting at 10.30am. Parents, relations and friends are warmly invited to come and share the atmosphere of Holiday Club and see what the children have been doing during the week.

More about this year's theme:
In keeping with the current emphasis on all things Olympian, this year’s Holiday Club is ‘On Your Marks’, set in first century Galilee at the ‘Global Games’. The club will take place from 13th to 17th August (just after the Olympics) and there will be the usual Celebration Service and barbecue on Sunday 19th. As the name implies, the club will be on a sports theme, although there will be lots of things to do for less-sporty children. There will be the usual mix of fun and games, songs, activities and drama, making for a fun-filled week. There will be an opportunity for parents, relations and friends to sample some of the flavour of Holiday Club at the Celebration Service at 10.30am on Sunday 19th.
The ‘Global Games’ theme will feature stories about the life of Jesus found in Mark’s Gospel. The children will have an opportunity to learn and experience what it is like to be a member of a team with Jesus as the leader.
Plenty of opportunities to help!
Additional helpers are always welcome, either to work directly with the children or in a variety of supporting roles. Please contact Ron or Jenny as above if you can help us.
Would you like to run St Luke’s Holiday Club?
This year's Holiday Club will be the 4th one organised and led by Ron Bustin. He would now like to pass the baton on to someone perhaps a little younger. We would be very sad to see it not take place next year after all the work that has gone into setting everything up, and after the success of the last 3 years in reaching out to the children and parents in the village. If you might be interested, please speak to Ron (605413), as at this stage there is the opportunity to shadow Ron this year, ready for next year. There is, of course, no obligation to run it in the same way that we have. Please pray about whether this might be something you could do, and who we might approach to take on this important role.
