Grayshott Carers Support Group

The Grayshott Carers Support Group (also known as the Post Office Friends) was set up in September 2009!  We decided to have it weekly - so that carers would always know that on a Wednesday afternoon they could rely on having somewhere to pop to, meet friends and relax a bit.

We meet every Wednesday between 2pm and 4pm in the Grayshott Post Office Cafe on Crossways Road - they are very welcoming!  We have established a tradition that when someone new comes to the group - we buy them a drink.  Then after that we all pay for our own drinks...!

The aim of the group is to give carers an opportunity to both talk about the person or people they care for and also to just talk about things they are interesting in ie to just be an ordinary person rather than a carer for a short while!  We are always laughing but we can talk about sad things too and we aim to be as supportive and caring as possible.

Sometimes the carer brings the person they care for - and we all join in the fun together!

We realise that there must be many carers out there in the Grayshott area who can't make it to the carers support group sessions at the cafe and we would love to hear from you and support you over the phone, by email or by a visit to your home.
